Javon Jarrell Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and home of The Youth Campaign. We are currently seeking an awesome grant writer to develop grant proposals (research, write and prepare) for our organization.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, write and submit compelling letters of inquiry as well as grant proposals to foundations, corporations and government entities.
  • Work with our foundation team as needed to develop project descriptions, timelines, evaluation plans and budgets.
  • Prepare and submit reports/updates to funders in a timely fashion.
  • Support research on new funding prospects.
  • Maintain up to date online and physical files of all grant-related content as well as correspondence.
  • Attend meetings related to grants and fund development.
  • Participate in staff training and attend special events.
  • Conduct other duties related to successful grants and fund development.


Qualities and Skills:

  • Successful candidates will be able to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent grant writing, analytical and research skills.
  • Grant Writers must be self-motivated, detail oriented and highly organized.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, take initiative and work independently is essential.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is desirable.
  • Grant writing experience is not needed but preferred.

We are currently seeking awesome media relations personnel to be apart of a professional volunteer team that develops and delivers The Youth Campaign story behind-the-scenes, on-camera, in-person and online through media channels, websites, social media feeds and other content platforms.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare articles and press releases for the media.
  • Ensure the company protects and promotes its image in a proper, coordinated, and consistent manner.
  • Cultivate and enhance collaborative working relationships with the press and publicity community.
  • Manage the flow of news about the organization to the media.
  • Gather and disseminate timely information to press and staff.
  • Optimize communication system to enhance the accuracy of communication.
  • Create effective communication channels.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of press and publicity function.
  • Act as a media spokesperson on behalf of the company and address questions and complaints.
  • Develop relationships with national and regional press contacts to ensure the company reputation is promoted and to deflect criticism.
  • Plan and oversee press events.
  • Detect public relations issues as they emerge and address them directly.
  • Research and write briefing materials.
  • Assemble press kits.
  • Compose and edit press releases, company literature, and articles for internal and external use.



Qualities and Skills:

A press or media relations officer is a highly demanding job and requires you to be quick thinking, intelligent and very articulate. Aside from that, you should also have:
